Need Receiver For Pdp-506pu I Have Optical Audio Out From The Tuner On My Tv. If I Buy Separately Powered Speakers, Do I Need A Receiver?

I have optical audio out from the tuner on my tv. if i buy separately powered speakers, do i need a receiver? - need receiver for pdp-506pu

I want to especially avoid the purchase of a receiver and still get his point of view. My game is in progress, so I have a PS3 with HDMI, which have to your TV and receiver with the HDMI cable that is connected to the TV. Can I connect the optical audio output on the back for separate speakers (such as a speaker for a computer, how they made Klipsch) and get surround sound or you need a receiver?

No, you need a receiver if you use powered speakers (unless they have) a separate unit with a surround-sound decoder and an optical input. You need a preamp / processor. A receiver is a combination of a preamplifier / processor, amplifier and radio tuner in a box. If you are on the food chain in the home theater systems, type start to begin to acquire the units as separate works.

You can buy a preamp from a separate receiver / processors tend to run a lot more money because they are less committed and more focused performance. Moreover, many recipient pre-outs, with which you can bypass the internal amplifier and a better use of off-board amplifier or powered speakers.

Now ... In order to do this? My voice is not, unless you have a large budget and can afford itbuy a real system of active surveillance (ALA PMC ... thousands of dollars). Computer speakers are more or less at the end of the food chain when it comes to home theater sound. You better buy a speaker stand Klipsch (I have many of his reference Cinema 10 packages available) and a receiver, computer speakers. The Klipsch Computer Speakers ... which happens when the "best of breed ... are a step in sound quality, even against their starter packs small theater dedicated loudspeaker.

If your 5.1 speakers and have a digital optical input, then yes, you can connect to the TV, or you'll need a receiver.

I think the optical audio output must be decoded and a receiver for this necessary.

I may be wrong - but the optical audio output of your TV is probably active only for cable card. If you have a cable card instead of a cable box, there is no way the sound to the recipient directly - and that gives the recipient of this source.

Some form of a receiver, the processing of Dolby Digital and / or DTS is required to decode the signal and the power of the speakers correctly.
