I had chronic prostatitis for about three years. I took all the ususal things, antibiotics, flomax, quercetin and pelvic floor excercises to relax the muscles. Eventually it did go away but was pretty awful at the time.
I had to fly to England during that time and I was very nervous about sitting for so long. My wife suggested taking one of her Clonazepan, a tranquiliser, to relax me. Not only did it take away any anxiety, but it improved the physical discomfort significantly. I don't like recommending Clonazepan as it can be addictive and have other side effects (Google it), but for occasional use when flying or driving a long way I found it worked.
Good luck and sympathy, it is a teerible thing to be going through.
In my experience, it takes 3-4 days or less on the pain disappears. In the meantime, you can try to get you to your doctor to get prescription drugs for pain. You can also use one of the cushions in the shape of a torus, which are made for people with hemorrhoids.
Good luck.
I think it can work up to one week. For the journey to take painkillers and things that sit HES hip pockets with a little softer. Compliance or risk management and stunned to serve to achieve.
